Our Chapter was formed in August of 1974 for the purpose of study, research and lessons in the Japanese flower arrangements of the Ohara School of Ikebana.

Members come from many states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

We meet every July and September in Highlands, North Carolina.  Highlands is a beautiful, small town in the Appalachian Mountains about 2 hours southwest of Asheville. It is within 3 hours of Greenville, S.C. and Atlanta, GA.  During each three day seminar we have lessons from certified master teachers of the Ohara School of Ikebana.

Our members are a diverse group from beginners to first degree masters.  We each thoroughly enjoy the art of ikebana, the love and spirit of plants and flowers and our friendship and camaraderie.
